TEAM NOTES

  • The Devils fell to the Edmonton Oilers in overtime and are now 9-4-2 overall and 4-3-1 at home. It was the Devils first loss in extra time this season. 
  • New Jersey finished 0-1-1 against Edmonton in 2017-18 and are 0-1-1 on their current three-game home-stand. The club remains win-less in their last four games (0-2-2).
  • The Devils are 2-1-2 against the Oilers at Prudential Center since 2013-14. 
  • New Jersey is 2-2-2 against the Pacific Division and 3-3-2 against the Western Conference. The club plays four of their next seven games against Western Conference opponents. 
  • The Devils were 0-4 on the power play and 2-2 while shorthanded. New Jersey has failed to score on the man-advantage in five straight games. 
  • The Devils out-shot the Oilers 34-32, which was the first time the club had the advantage in shots in their last eight games. 

PLAYER NOTES

  • Brian Boyle opened the scoring at 5:33 of the first period with his first goal of the season/as a Devil. He now has a two-game point streak with 2 points (1g-1a).
  • Brian Gibbons and John Moore had the assists on Boyle’s goal. Moore now has two assists in his last two games.
  • Drew Stafford scored his fifth goal of the season, at 18:25 of the second period.
  • Adam Henrique had the primary assist on Stafford’s goal, bringing his point total to nine (3g-6a).
  • Mirco Mueller had the secondary assist on Stafford’s goal and was +2 on the night. 
  • Cory Schneider stopped 29 of 32 shots and fell to 6-3-1. 
  • Taylor Hall led the Devils with 23:43 TOI, while Nico Hischier played a career-high 21:18.
  • Kyle Palmieri returned to the lineup and led the Devils with 5 shots, after missing the teams previous six games with a lower body injury.
  • Blake Coleman and Steven Santini were tied for the team-lead with four hits apiece.
