Team Notes

  • The Devils concluded their two-game, season-series with Winnipeg, 0-1-1, after falling in the shootout. The club is 3-3 in shootouts in 2016-17.
  • Tonight was the Devils’ final game versus a Western Conference opponent this season. The Devils were 5-6-3 vs. the Pacific Division, 5-5-4 vs. the Central Division and were 10-11-7 overall vs. the West.
  • The Devils were 0-4 on the power play tonight and are 2-13 (15.4%) over their last five games. New Jersey surrendered their 11th shorthanded goal of the season when Joel Armia scored to tie the game, 3-3, in the third period.
  • New Jersey was a perfect 3-3 on the penalty kill and are 9-13 over the last five games.
  • The Devils were out-shot, 36-23, including 18-8 in the second period.

Player Notes

  • Taylor Hall notched his 19th goal of the season on a breakaway at 12:07 of the first period and has four points over his last five games (2g-2a). He now leads the club with 51pts. Hall has 17 points (6g-11a) in 11 career games vs. Winnipeg.
  • Beau Bennett tied the game at one apiece with his sixth goal of the season at 8:10 of the first period. His six goals ties his career-high which was set in the 2015-16 season. He has also surpassed his previous career-high with 16 points (6g-10a) on the season. He needs just one assist to tie his career-best for 11 assists in a season, which he did as a rookie in 2012-13.
  • Stefan Noesen scored his seventh goal of the season at 15:27 of the second period. Blake Pietila assisted on the goal for his first point of the season and his first point since Mar. 31, 2016 (11 games).
  • Pavel Zacha and Dalton Prout each had an assist on Bennett’s score.
  • Travis Zajac notched the helper on Hall’s goal. He has surpassed his 2015-16 assist and point total tonight with 29 assists and 43 points on the season.
  • Cory Schneider stopped 33 of 36 shots (+ 2-3 in shootout) and fell to 20-24-11 on the season.
