Team Notes

  • The Devils improved to 3-0-0 against the Flyers this season and have out-scored their opponent, 14-3, over their three matches. The Devils also snapped their season-long 10-game, win-less streak (0-8-2). New Jersey and Philadelphia face-off two more times in 2016-17, Apr. 1 at Wells Fargo Center and Apr. 4 at Prudential Center.
  • The club wore their retro red and green jerseys for the second time this season and for the 10th time since donning the current red and black sweaters at the start of the 1992-93 season. The Devils are 4-6-0 in retro-games.
  • New Jersey is 9-9-3 vs. the Metropolitan Division and is 16-20-7 against Eastern Conference opponents.
  • The Devils were 1-3 on the power play and are 2-10 (20.0%) with the man-advantage over the last five games.
  • New Jersey was 3-3 on the penalty kill and are 10-12 (83.3%) while shorthanded over the last five games.
  • New Jersey out-shot Philadelphia, 29-19, including 22-15 over the first two periods.
  • Tomorrow the Devils will close-out their 15th of 18 sets of back-to-back games. New Jersey is 5-6-4 in first games and is 7-4-3 in second games of back-to-backs.

Player Notes

  • Joseph Blandisi notched his first game-winning goal of 2016-17 on the power play in the second period. Blandisi has a three-game, point-streak (1g-2a) for the second time in his career (also, Feb. 2-6, 2016).
  • Taylor Hall (EV, EN) and  Adam Henrique (2 EV) each had two-goal games tonight. Hall has 3g-1a-4pts over his last three games, while Henrique has 2g-1a-3pts over is last two games.
  • Kyle Palmieri had one goal and one assist for his 12th two-point game of the campaign. He has eight goals over his last 11 games and leads New Jersey with 23 goals on the season.
  • Travis Zajac notched his 430th and 431st career assists tonight to pass Scott Stevens for sole possession of eighth all-time in franchise history.
  • Dalton Prout recorded the first point of his Devils’ career on Henrique’s first goal.
  • Beau Bennett increased his point-streak to three games (1g-2a) after recording an assist on Henrique’s first marker.
  • John Moore had an assist tonight and now has 16 points on the season. He needs three points to tie his career high of 19pts (4g-15a) set in 2015-16.
  • Damon Severson and Pavel Zacha assisted on Blandisi’s game-winner. Nine of Zacha’s 18 points this season have been scored on the power play.
  • Keith Kinkaid stopped 17 of 19 shots tonight and improved to 7-9-2 this season. The victory was his first since Jan. 21 at Phi. (five appearances).
