Kyle Palmieri notched two goals and leads the team with 22 goals. He tied his season-high with six shots on net. Beau Bennett netted his fourth goal of the season and his first since Jan. 17 at Min. John Moore scored his seventh goal of the season.

Taylor Hall and Joseph Blandisi assisted Palmieri’s power play goal. Both Hall and Blandisi each have two assists in their last two games.

Hall was awarded a penalty shot at 17:22 of the third period. He was unsuccessful in his attempt, and is now 1-4 in his career on penalty shots.

Damon Severson had his 5th multi-point game of the year after recording two assists. Severson is now tied with Travis Zajac for second on the team with 26 assists. Adam Henrique added an assist on Palmieri’s second goal and led the team with four hits. Pavel Zacha and Miles Wood had the assists on Moore’ s goal.

Cory Schneider stopped six of 10 shots and was replaced by Keith Kinkaid at 4:13 of the second period. Kinkaid stopped 20 of 21 shots and fell to 6-9-2.

Michael Cammalleri (upper body, five games missed) is week-to-week.

Devante Smith-Pelly (lower body, one game missed) is day-to-day.

DEVILS VS. JETS

Tonight is the second and final meeting between New Jersey and Winnipeg this season. The Devils lost their first match-up vs. the Jets, 2-3, on Nov. 29 at MTS Centre. Nick Lappin and Miles Wood scored the goals in the loss. The goal was the first of Wood’s NHL career.

The Devils are 5-5-2 vs. the Central Division and are 10-11-5 against Western Conference opponents. New Jersey is searching for its first win at home since a 3-2 victory Feb. 18 vs. NYI (4 games).

New Jersey is 2-3-0 in its last five games overall against Winnipeg and are 16-9-4 all-time at home vs. the Jets/Thrashers franchise.

Taylor Hall has 16 points (5g-11a) in 10 career games vs. the Jets.

ACE IN THE DOT

Travis Zajac was 22-29 in the faceoff circle on Feb. 19 at the NY Islanders. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Zajac’s 75.9% winning-percentage was the second highest in the NHL out of the 75 prior instances of a player taking 29+ faceoffs in a game this season (Patrice Bergeron, 23-29 (79.3%)).

Zajac’s 29 faceoffs on Feb. 19 was the fifth-most he’s taken in one game this season. On Feb. 27 vs. MTL, he won 20 of 30 draws (66.7%).

PALMIERI’S HOT STREAK

Kyle Palmieri has seven goals and four assists over his last ten games. He leads New Jersey with 22 goals and 44 points (tie, Taylor Hall). Palmieri set a career-high 30 goals and 57 points in the 2015-16 season. He also leads all Devils’ skaters with 109 hits this season.

POWER PLAY HEATING UP

The Devils have scored on the power play 13 times over the last 17 games. The Devils are 13-38 (34.2%) on the power play since Feb. 1, which ranks first in the NHL during that time-frame.

PAVEL PLAY GOAL

Pavel Zacha ranks third among NHL rookies (tie, J. Vesey, A. Matthews, S. Aho) with five power play goals. Eight of Zacha’s 17 points this season have come on the man-advantage.

PROSPECT WATCH

Joey Anderson (Minnesota-Duluth) was named to the 2016-17 NCHC All-Rookie Team. Anderson leads all NCHC freshmen with 19 assists (28pts) in 33 games.

ROAD REVENGE

After starting the season 0-3-2 in their first five road games, New Jersey had points in eight straight games away from Prudential Center (7-0-1) until falling to the NY Islanders on Feb. 19. The club is ranked first in the NHL with a 86.4% penalty-kill on the road and is second (tie, CGY, CAR, FLA, NSH) with five shorthanded goals.

BLOCKAID STONEWALLING

Keith Kinkaid stopped 43 of 44 shots and 2 of 2 shootout attempts in a winning effort Dec. 29 at Wsh. It was his second 40+ save performance of the season. On Jan. 13 at Cgy. he saved 31 of 32 shots for his fifth win of the season. He stopped 35 of 36 shots Jan. 21 at Phi. He stopped 20 of 21 shots in relief of Cory Schneider on Mar. 11 at Ari. Has a .917 save-percentage this season.

Had first career point Feb. 19 at NYI when credited with a secondary assist on Taylor Hall’s PP goal.

HOMELAND

New Jersey suffered its first regulation loss at home on Dec. 9 vs. Stl., 1-4, after establishing a new franchise record, 8-0-2, for the longest streak of being undefeated in regulation at home to start a season (previously, 1987-88, 8-0-1). The Devils are 13-13-6 at home.

NOES-EN FOR THE NET 

Stefan Noesen had two goals in his first two games with New Jersey since being claimed off waivers from Anaheim on Jan. 25. Noesen is the first Devil to score in his first two games with the club since Devante Smith-Pelly (Mar. 1-3, 2g-1a). Noesen had his first NHL assist on Feb. 14 vs. Col.

SEVERSON SCORING

Damon Severson leads defensemen and is sixth on the Devils in scoring with 3g-26a-29pts. He has five multi-point games this season and is tied for second (T. Zajac) on the club in assists. Severson surpassed his career-high of 21pts with an assist Jan. 17 at Min. in his 46th game of 2016-17. He had 1g-20a-21pts in 72 games played in 2015-16.

HALL-STAR REPEAT

Metropolitan Division forward Taylor Hall became the only player to win back-to-back All-Star Game titles under the 3-on-3 format. Hall was a member of the Pacific Division team that won in 2016. He was a combined 1g-3a-4pts in two games, recording the lone assist on MVP Wayne Simmonds’ game-winning goal in the Final.

DEVILS DEBUTS

Kevin RooneyBlake SpeersBlake ColemanYohann Auvitu, John Quenneville and Nick Lappin have all made their NHL debuts with New Jersey this season. The Devils have had 10 rookies play in at least one game this season which is the second most (tie, Arizona) in the NHL.

ZAJAC CLIMBING THE FRANCHISE LEADERBOARD

Travis Zajac appeared in his 700th career game, all with New Jersey, on Oct. 13, 2016.  He ranks 9th all-time in games played in Devils’ history and is 7th all-time among forwards. He tied Sergei Brylin for 8th all-time among skaters with 765 games Mar. 9 at Col.  He tied Zach Parise (410pts) for 9th in Devils’ history on Dec. 3 at Nsh.  Zajac scored 1g on Feb. 18 vs. NYI to tie Wilf Paiement (153g) for 9th all-time in franchise history.  On Feb. 21 vs. Ott., he passed Bobby Holik for 9th all-time in franchise history with 271 assists.

THIS DAY IN DEVILS HISTORY

Mar. 14, 2009- In his hometown of Montreal, Que., Martin Brodeur tied Patrick Roy’s NHL record of 551 career regular-season victories. With 1g-1a-2pts, Patrik Elias tied John MacLean’s franchise record of 701 career points.
