At 1:27 of the first period, New Jersey requested a Coach’s Challenge to review whether Arizona was off-side prior to Radim Vrbata’s goal. NHL Hockey Operations staff determined that the Coyotes entered the attacking zone legally prior to the goal. Therefore the original call stands – good goal Arizona Coyotes.
Kyle Palmieri notched two goals tonight and leads the team with 22 goals. He now has 11 multi-point games this season and tied a season-high with six shots on net.
Beau Bennett netted his fourth goal of the season, his first since Jan. 17 at Min., at 12:09 of the second period. Bennett now has two points (1g-1a) in his last two games.
Taylor Hall and Joseph Blandisi assisted Palmieri’s power play goal. Both Hall and Blandisi have two assists in their last two games.
Hall was awarded a penalty shot at 17:22 of the third period. He was unsuccessful in his attempt, and is now 1-4 in his career on penalty shots.
Damon Severson had his 5th multi-point game of the year after recording two assists. Severson is now tied with Travis Zajac for second on the team with 26 assists.
Adam Henrique added an assist on Palmieri’s second goal and led the team with four hits.
John Moore scored his 7th goal of the season at 15:02 of the third period and was a plus-3 +/- along with Damon Severson.
Pavel Zacha and Miles Wood had the assists on Moore’ s goal.
Cory Schneider stopped 6 of 10 shots and was replaced by Keith Kinkaid at 4:13 of the second period. Kinkaid stopped 20 of 21 shots and fell to 6-9-2.
Ben Lovejoy led the Devils with 21:56 TOI and four blocked shots.
