Team Notes

  • The Devils finished their season series 1-1-0 against the Avalanche and are now win-less in their last nine games (0-7-2). 
  • With the loss, New Jersey is 5-5-2 against the Central Division and is 10-10-5 against Western Conference opponents. The Devils have not defeated the Avalanche at Pepsi Center since Mar. 15, 2008 and are now 0-4-2 in their last six games in Colorado. 
  • The Devils were 0-1 on the power play tonight and are 0-10 over their last five games.
  • New Jersey was 3-3 on the penalty-kill and are 14-16 (87.5%) short-handed over the last 5 games.
  • The Devils out-shot the Avalanche, 27-22, including 24-12 over the final two periods.

Player Notes

  • Taylor Hall opened the scoring for the Devils with his 15th goal of the season at 0:42 of the third period and led the Devils with four shots on net. 
  • Stefan Noesen scored his fifth goal of the season, third with the Devils, at 6:13 of the third period. 
  • Ben Lovejoy, Beau Bennett and Joseph Blandisi each added assists on the night. Blandisi had a season-high 16:39 TOI.
  • Travis Zajac appeared in his 765th game with the Devils, and is now tied for 8th all-time in games played in franchise history with Sergei Brylin. 
  • Cory Schneider stopped 19 of 22 shots and fell to 19-22-10 on the season. Schneider  has stopped 663 of 718 shots (.923 save%) since Jan. 1.
  • John Moore led the Devils with 22:32 TOI. Moore and Jon Merrill were also tied for the team-lead with three blocked shots apiece.
