Team Notes 

  • The Devils lost their third consecutive game and were shutout for the second time this season. 
  • New Jersey is now 4-9-4 on the road and 12-10-6 overall.
  • The Devils face-off against the Rangers again next Sunday in New York for their final game at Madison Square Garden in 2016-17. New Jersey is 3-4-0 vs. New York on the road since the 2013-14 season.
  • The Devils are 2-1-1 against the Metropolitan Division and are 6-5-4 vs. Eastern Conference opponents in 2016-17.
  • New Jersey was 0-5 on the power play and are 3-16 (18.8%) with the man-advantage over the past five games.
  • The Devils were 4-6 on the penalty-kill and are 12-16 (75%) while shorthanded over the past five games.
  • The Devils were out-shot, 19-31, tonight.
  • At 1:09 of the first period, video review determined that New Jersey’s Adam Henrique kicked the puck into the New York net. According to Rule 49.2 “A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who uses a distinct kicking motion to propel the puck into the net.” 

Player Notes

  • Cory Schneider made his 21st start of the season in goal and fell to 9-8-4. He stopped 25 of 31 shots.
  • Adam Henrique and Kyle Quincey led the Devils with four hits on the night. Quincey also had four blocks to lead the team. 
  • Kyle Palmieri led New Jersey with four shots on net. 
  • Damon Severson led the Devils in TOI for the third consecutive game, playing 21:30 tonight.
