Martin Brodeur No. 30 Jersey Retirement Schedule and Details

OVERVIEW:    The New Jersey Devils will celebrate the retirement of legendary goaltender Martin Brodeur’s No. 30 jersey with three days of events from Feb. 6-9. Media RSVPs are required for each event.

SCHEDULE:     

SATURDAY, FEB. 6

Marty Brodeur Jr. Hockey Clinic (*Private Event)

11 a.m. – Prudential Center Practice Facility – 25 Lafayette St, Newark, NJ 07102

  • Marty Brodeur, Chico Resch and USA Hockey coaches will work with approximately 40 12-and-under youth hockey players from local NJ teams.
  • Media should enter at Event Staff entrance off of Lafayette St.

                        Devils vs. Capitals

1 p.m. – Prudential Center – 25 Lafayette St., Newark, NJ 07102

  • Marty Brodeur will drop the ceremonial puck prior to the start of the game.

                       

MONDAY, FEB. 8                       

Denis Brodeur Photography Program Launch (*Private Event)

                        1:30 p.m. – Charlie Heger Ice Rink – 807 Summit Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07307

  • Dedication of a sports-focused photography program at Henry Snyder High School in honor of Marty’s late father, Denis, a renowned NHL photographer. Guests will include school representatives, local dignitaries, Devils management and alumni, and community members.

New Jersey Hockey Clinic (*Private Event)

                        2:30 p.m. – Charlie Heger Ice Rink – 807 Summit Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07307

  • Marty Brodeur, Chico Resch, Ken Daneyko, Bryce Salvador and USA Hockey coaches will conduct a Learn to Skate clinic with Jersey City youth hockey members.

“The Salute” Statue Unveil & Devils-Rangers Viewing Party

                        5:30 p.m. – Prudential Center – 25 Lafayette St., Newark, NJ 07102

  • The New Jersey Devils will unveil “The Salute,” a bronze statue honoring Marty’s career, in front of approximately 3,000 fans before a Q&A with Marty and a viewing of the Devils-Rangers game on the center hung scoreboard.
  • Media should enter at Event Staff entrance off of Lafayette St.

                     

 TUESDAY, FEB. 9

Martin Brodeur Jersey Retirement Ceremony & Devils-Oilers Game

  • 12:30 p.m. Marty Brodeur Media Availability (Press Room)

3:00 p.m.         Mulberry St. Press Entrance Doors Open (Media Only)

4:15 p.m.         Press Meal Opens

4:30 p.m.         Doors Open for Fans

6:15 p.m.         On-Ice Ceremony Begins

7:15 p.m.         Marty Brodeur Media Availability (Press Room)

8:08 p.m.         Devils-Oilers Puck Drop

  • The New Jersey Devils will raise Marty Brodeur’s No. 30 jersey to the rafters following a special on-ice ceremony hosted by Doc Emrick. Among the guests in attendance will be: Marty and his family; NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman; former Devils players and coaches; current Devils ownership and management; and the New Jersey Devils team.
  • Please note the earlier start times to accommodate the special ceremony. Before 3 p.m., media should enter at the Event Staff entrance off of Lafayette St. After 3 p.m., please enter through the Mulberry St. press entrance.
